Candle Care
Tips for a Long Lasting and Clean Burning Candle
Trim Your Wick
Before lighting your candle, always trim the wick to 5-6mm to ensure a controlled, clean flame. This will prevent soot release and build-up in your candle and also helps your candle last longer!
Full Melt Pool
Allow your candle to melt evenly across the container to prevent wax tunnelling and to get the best fragrance release from your candle. It usually takes 2-3 hours of burning to create a full melt-pool.
Safety First
Do not burn a candle for longer than 4 hours at a time to reduce the risk of fire. Always keep a burning candle within sight and keep far away from flammable objects. Ensure burning candles are out-of-reach from both children and pets.
Finished burning your favorite candle?
There are easy ways to remove the leftover wax from candle jars and fun ways to repurpose them!
1. Fill a pot with boiling water and place the candle jar for a few minutes for the wax to soften.
2. Once the wax has melted, carefully remove the jar from the water and pour out the remaining wax into the garbage (never down the drain). Thoroughly wash using warm soapy water.
3. Don’t forget to remove the remaining wick and the wick-holder. The boiling water will soften the adhesive enough to remove but if stuck, slip a pen underneath to pop it out.
*Do not microwave to melt the leftover wax as the wick holder that holds the wick in place is made out of metal.
4. Repurpose your candle jar or recycle it!
